Alabama Clay Conference: Feb. 19-21, 2001

The 25TH ANNUAL ALABAMA CLAY CONFERENCE is anticipated to be one of the greatest ever! For the first time, Troy University has the pleasure of hosting this historic event and welcomes lovers of clay art from everywhere to the City of Troy!

Indeed the community of Troy IS hosting this event. From the University to the Chamber of Commerce; from Malone Gallery to the brand new Johnson Center for the Arts; Troy welcomes YOU to explore the rhythms of clay as a cultural, social and economic medium.

This conference is being brought to you by the Alabama Craft Council, the Alabama State Council on the Arts, the Department of Art and Design of Troy University, and the Potter's Council.

This years presenters—Juan Quezada, Lana Wilson, Marko Fields, and Brian Nettles—each have their unique stories to share with us: the rhythms in which they work and produce, the generation of fabulously unique work(s) from a wide variety of historical and contemporary influences, and what forms of re-generation take place in their creative lives as they pass on their knowledge and passion to other clay enthusiasts, patrons of our craft, and future potters and ceramic artists.
